This is my matted block print of a self portrait. This self portrait was created from a block and ink that was carved out using crosshatching, stapling, and parallel lines that I had learned in the pen and ink drawing to create shading and texture. The new skill that I had come about was the carving of a block and finding ways to make grey, black, and white with the carving. The main art elements would be surface, shape, and texture. These help create an idea that the face has different shapes and a curving surface.
